Data deletion
How to delete your account and the data we hold on our server.
Delete from inside the app (recommended)
- Open SMS Forwarder on your Android device.
- Go to Settings → Data → Delete account and data.
- Read the confirmation dialog and tap Delete.
The app erases your local configuration (rules, channels, push history, settings, cached cloud credentials) and sends a deletion request to our server, which immediately removes:
- Your subscription record (we identify you by the Google Play account ID — we never store your Google account email).
- Any feedback you submitted from the app, including uploaded diagnostic-log archives.
- Per-feature rate-limit counters (feedback submission, email send).
- Remote-web-access tunnel slugs and any open relay sessions.
Short-lived caches (purchase verification, AI deduplication) are content-hashed and expire automatically within 1 hour.
Retained up to 31 days as abuse-prevention data (GDPR Art. 17(3)(e) exception): per-day and per-minute AI usage counters — opaque numerics linked only to our internal account identifier, with no other attribute attached. They prevent a delete-and-re-subscribe cycle from resetting the daily AI quota. A nightly job sweeps any row older than 31 days; nothing else references these counters after the account record itself is gone.
Don't have the app installed?
Email [email protected] with your Google Play order ID so we can find your record. The order ID looks like GPA.1234-5678-9012-34567. To find it: open Play Store → tap your avatar → Payments & subscriptions → Budget and history → SMS Forwarder → Receipt. The order ID is at the bottom of the receipt.
We don't store your Google account email and Google Play doesn't share it with us, so we can't look up your record from your email address alone — the order ID is the only identifier we can match against.
We will delete your data within 30 days and reply to you once it's done.
Cancelling your subscription
Deleting your data does not cancel a paid Google Play subscription. To cancel, open the Play Store app → tap your avatar → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → SMS Forwarder → Cancel. You can do this before or after requesting data deletion.
